DIRECTRICE GÉNÉRALE

Studio XX, centre d'artiste féministe engagé dans l'exploration, la 
création et la critique en art technologique, est à la recherche d'une 
directrice générale.

La personne devra superviser les ressources financières, humaines et 
matérielles de l'organisme et s'assurer que toutes ses activités et 
événements reflètent son mandat de centre d'artiste féministe qui vise à 
promouvoir l'exploration, la création et la critique en arts 
médiatiques. Tenant le rôle de leader et d'organisatrice en chef, la 
directrice veille au bon fonctionnement des différents volets du Studio 
XX : site web, programmation artistique, revue en ligne, ateliers de 
formation, production et festival HTMlles. Tout en consolidant les liens 
du Studio XX avec la communauté, elle le représente auprès des 
différents organismes artistiques et subventionneurs. Elle s'assure du 
bon fonctionnement de la communication et des relations de travail entre 
les employées, les membres des comités et du conseil d'administration.

La candidate idéale possède une expérience d'au moins 2 ans de travail 
auprès des centres d'artistes canadiens ou d'un organisme à but non 
lucratif (ou une expérience équivalente). Elle est passionnée par les 
nouvelles technologies, en particulier les arts électroniques et en 
réseau, et elle a de l'expérience au niveau du milieu canadien et 
international des nouveaux médias. Elle a démontré sa capacité à rédiger 
des demandes de bourses auprès des gouvernements et fondations et peut 
assumer la responsabilité d'un travail qui comporte des contraintes 
budgétaires. Détenant une bonne maîtrise de différents logiciels de 
bureau, elle est toujours prête à apprendre de nouvelles possibilités de 
travail avec la technologie. Elle excelle dans un environnement de 
travail collaboratif et ses forces incluent : leadership, esprit 
d'analyse, créativité et sens de l'organisation. Elle est une 
communicatrice habile, bilingue et possède une excellente écriture dans 
au moins l'une des deux langues officielles. Un diplôme en 
administration des arts serait un atout.

Contrat renouvelable après un an. Période de probation de six (6) mois. 
35 heures/semaine.
Salaire annuel: $40,000, incluant 4 semaines de vacances payées.

GENERAL DIRECTOR

Studio XX, Montréal's own new media and network arts centre for women, 
is looking for a General Director. Studio XX is a feminist centre for 
technological exploration, creation and critique that aims to bring 
together the voices and creative actions developed by women to challenge 
and expand the limits of cyberspace.

The person selected for the position will be responsible for the overall 
administration, management and orientation of Studio XX. The General 
Director oversees the financial, human and technological resources of 
the Studio and ensures that all activities and events undertaken by the 
organisation reflect its feminist mandate and commitment to women's 
creative approach to new technologies. The General Director oversees the 
functioning of all aspects of studio life including: website, artistic 
programming, workshops, productions, and the HTMlles festival. She is 
responsible for overall relations between the Studio's employees and 
board members, as well as with the community at large.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of experience working 
within Canadian artist-run centres or not-for-profit groups (or 
equivalent experience). She has a passion for new technologies, 
especially electronic and web-based art, and has some experience with 
the new media arts scene in Canada and internationally. She has the 
proven ability to write government and foundation grants and can work 
responsibly within tight budgetary constraints. With a good working 
knowledge of various office oriented computer programs, she is always 
keen on learning new ways of working with technology. She excels in a 
collaborative environment and her strengths include; leadership, 
analytical skills, creativity and a strong sense of organization. She is 
an able communicator, is bilingual and has excellent writing skills in 
at least one of the two official languages. A degree in Arts 
Adminsistration would be an asset.

This is a core staff position.
One-year renewable contract with a six (6) month probationary period. 
35hr/week
Salary : $40,000 annual. including four weeks paid vacation.
Start : September 2007.
