RACHELLE D'ÂME SOUL
Studio XX, a digital art and technology centre for women engaged in exploration, creation and critique technological art, always encourages educational initiatives to allow women to be more autonomous. Through these convictions, we are organizing a fund raising concert next May 3rd at club Balattou, for A.G.E.F (African Girls Education Fund), an organization that takes financial responsibilities to pay school fees to unprivileged girls from the Luo Community in West Kenya.
A.G.E.F's mission is dedicated in improving literacy, health and economic wellbeing of African girls through education. A.G.E.F believes that educated women are needed to meet the challenges that African women face in the 20th century; education is an important part of efforts to combat spread of HIV/AIDS, poverty, domestic and sexual violence and discrimination. Under these circumstances AGEF is privileged to be part of this campaign to transform the lives of girls who are very much in desperate need. We believe that by focusing directly on one girl at a time we are creating a ripple effect that will transform the lives of the future generation and Africa as a whole for the better. A.G.E.F is therefore acting as a buttress in advocating for the African girls education campaign so that they can remain pillars of their families and their communities.
For this cause, musicians, dancers, and spoken word artists from the Montreal scene will join their talents to offer you delectable performances in a cozy and festive atmosphere: Montreal's famous club Balattou.
The objective of this event is to raise money for A.G.E.F while making you discover the amazing talents of Montreal-based artists.
