What would the FB be without its bar and its
food, its hustle and bustle?
The Studio team needs small “crews” to help
with moving office furnishings around before and after the
event, and with concocting special drinks.
Also, we are looking for an official photographer for taking
pictures for our Web site and for the sake of “archiving”
traces of our activities for the future.

Studio XX welcomes any proposal that members would like
to make concerning its programming. We are currently seeking
artists and guests, from both here and abroad, in connection

political aspects of Do
it Yourself in the era of the electronic networks and
cyber communities.

new electronic magazine. It is also open to proposals from
authors who would like to produce a text of 1200 to 2000
words, inspired by the current theme or proposing a critical
and feminist reflection on issues related to women and technology.
“Women – Culture – Society” are

The 5-minute techno-recipe
With a nod to the annual “DIY” theme, at each
FB a woman is invited to deliver a technological recipe:
whether it is for house, work, art, activism, whether invented,
found in a book, stolen — even if it's a flops! It
is a trick, or hack, that she claims all should try for
whatever reason, as political gesture, or purely for fun.
The recipe can go from the most low-tech to the bleeding
edge, as long as someone minimally equipped with a computer
and a few electronic tools can try it out. Of course, the
presenter/stand up comic has to able to make a convincing
“show-and-tell” demonstration — and in
no more than 5 minutes! After the demonstration, the recipe
file, with photos and instructions, will be made available
on XX Web site.
Anyone interested in simply submitting a techno recipe file,
without the to-do of “performing” it live, are
more than welcome. We'll be glad to offer them a friend-of-the-Studio
membership (worth 50$).
The Feminist Electric Shock
To keep its members up to date, and replenish the feminist
thought animating it, Studio XX will greet the report of
a guest speaker with a marked point of view on current events
touching on women and feminism today. This item is also
an opportunity to forge new links, encourage participation,
and incite action.
