Revisiting the voyage of the Htmlles in eastern Europe, EXPORT2
"The HTMlles EXPORT 2" artists mobility project included the travel of five Canadian artists(Chantal Dumas, Caroline Martel, Joanna Berzowska, Jennifer Willet, Michelle Teran), one Canadian curator (Kyd Campbell) and seven projects to the cities of Belgrade, Sofia and Istanbul between the dates of October 19th and 31st, 2006. Biannually, StudioXX produces a touring project which allows for artists who have participated with their works in the most recent edition of the HTMlles Festival for Media Art + Networked Practices in Montreal to travel with their projects.
During this evening presentation the artists from the tour will talk about their experiences, their new contacts and the cultural contexts they had the chance to work in, in Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey. Video, photos and stories and wine will be shared.

Cultivating mobility [1 Feb]
The launch of .dpi 8, StudioXX's on-line magazine, the second issue on the theme of mobility which considers the socio-cultural aspects of mobility. With articles from Nat Muller (NL), an independent curator and critic interested mainly in the media and art of the Middle East, Laiwan (Vancouver), an artist and writer recognized for her interdisciplinary practice based in poetics and philosophy, and Ana Rewakowicz (Montreal), a sculpture and performance artist and researcher questioning the notion of nomadism and the public space.

Call for proposals: residency program at Studio XX [1 Apr]
StudioXX invites new media artists to submit proposals for its residency program for the year 2007-2008 on the theme of Mobility.
Residencies are eight weeks in length. For accepted proposals, Studio XX offers:
- Distinct working space for the artist
- $750 artist's fee
- 45 hours of technical support
- Access to the Studio's equipment
- Possibility to participate in certain group workshops
The resident will benefit from a network of experts for her technical needs. The Studio offers a theorical and/or critical framework where the resident can exchange ideas on her project.
Studio XX disseminates the artist's project on its web site, with an artist's presentation given during its Femmes br@nchées Salon series within the year following completion of the project.
