Youth Video festival
A small youth video festival in NDG/Côte des neiges is looking for volunteer organizers, promoters and web designers, if you are interested in event planning or publicity and work well with young people, please email Miriam@studioxx.org

GBLT youth journal in montreal
ArtIfact Journal for GBLT youth in Montréal is looking for volunteers and contributors. If you are under 30 and interested in developing an on-line and traditional journal about queer issues contact GLBTA_creationart@yahoo.ca and sign up for their first informations session.

Digitelles needs web volunteers
The Maison Parent-Roback, a building belonging to several feminist networks in Old Montreal, has agreed to an exchange of services with DigitElles : the Maison will host DigitElles events and DigitElles will build the MPR web site.

The DigitElles web committee will be putting together a volunteer production team for this project. If you're just starting out in Web work, here's a chance to get experience with a team of pros - and a chance for pros to give a little time to give to a worthwhile project! If you are a project manager, writer, editor, graphic designer or integrator and you'd like to work on this project and/or the DigitElles website, please contact Emmanuelle Demeules : emmanuelle@anthropie.com

 

>> ARTISTS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS @XX

Studio XX is now accepting proposals from artists working in diverse backgrounds for a professional development workshop, to be held during the months of April and May. We are looking for 6 artists or creative individuals working in a medium outside of webdesign, to participate and learn together how to make creative websites that utilise video, sound, and interactivity. This workshop will be taught collectively as part of the creative process.

If you are interested in participating, please send a CV and proposal to Miriam@studioxx.org, outlining both the project you will pursue and the skills you bring to bear on the group dynamic. Applicants accepted to the workshop, will profit from Studio XX’s expertise as well as each others particular knowledges. Proposals need not be longer then 2 pages, and should be postmarked no later then March 24th.

CQAM NEEDS US : BECOME A MEMBER !

The support offered by CQAM(Conseil québécois des arts médiatiques) is important for all workers in the new media arts sector in Quebec. Cqam requires a dynamic and active membership in order to develop a strong voice and a strategy. Studio XX invites its members to become join CQAM and become active participants in the development and promotion of media arts in Quebec.

Founded in 1998, CQAM is the only disciplinary non-profit organization in Quebec which groups together and represents associations, collectives, organizations and professional independent creators in media arts in Quebec on all government levels (municipal, provincial, federal and international). CQAM receives operating assistance from the Quebec Council of Arts and Letters (CALQ) and project funding from several municipal, provincial and federal government organizations.

CQAM’s mission is to defend, promote and represent media arts creators and cultural workers in Quebec. To this end, CQAM undertakes various actions and lobbies necessary to improve living and working conditions of independent media arts creators and cultural workers, to ensure respect of media arts creators’ copyright and to guarantee the right to pursue independent media arts creation, to increase knowledge and recognition of the media arts practice, to increase public awareness of media arts and to work towards increased dissemination of media arts works.

In recognition of the socio-industrial origins of International Women's Day, Studio XX presents an evening of women and their machines at the newly constructed production and performance space, Le Zest, at 4200, Ontario E. The March 8th event is part of Espaces_Emergents, a month-long initiative of performances, indie cinema, workshops and media diffusion to encourage cultural development in Montreal's East End.

EDGY WOMEN 10 ANNIVERSARY OPEN HOUSE

The 10 anniversary edition of Edgy Women offers two programs of diverse performances and an Edgy Open house, at which the public is invited to meet many of montreals feminist cultural organizations, as well as take a look at the show in Gallery303.


SHOWTIMES
Friday and Saturday the 21 and 22 of march
8:30pm at Studio 303, 372 Ste-Catherine W.
$12 ($10 vip) for one event or, 20$ ou (16$ vip) for both evenings.
Tickets are available at the door 45 minutes before the show.


The Edgy OPEN HOUSE
From 2-8:30pm Saturday the 22, 303 will host an openhouse with some Montréals favorite feminist organizations.
