Round table "Le Phénomène des pratiques artistiques communautaires" For a few years now, we have been witnessing many artistic interventions taking place within social and urban fields. Weather produced under the banner of maneuver, furtive, or contextual practices, those infiltrating actions are introduced in human landscapes, reducing distances between the public and the artist. Through the produced negotiations, interactions and compromises, the human being becomes an unpredictable material within the artistic process, provoking sometimes uncommon and even unexpected results. Those practices in which “art becomes circumstances“ fill the emptiness left by the society of the spectacle and attempt to revive human relations and restore social tissues. With the sound workshop project entitled Hawabécédaire, Studio XX invites artists and cultural workers to gather and reflect on the outcomes of such practices, especially in cases where they are addressed to specific communities that enrich the social project through their differences. In what ways are the concerned communities sensible to the proposed artistic experiences? Il s’agit d’un atelier autour d’un projet Web, grâce auquel nous voulons tisser des liens entre des paroles de femmes qui vivent sur trois continents : ici à Montréal, à Marseille et Paris (France) et à Alger (Algérie). Conçu par un groupe de femmes maghrébines de Marseille, HAWA poursuit sa route à Montréal. Le projet se déroule sous forme d’un atelier dans lequel un abécédaire sera élaboré. Présenté comme un blogue, les participantes pourront exprimer de façon libre, publier et partager sur Internet leurs idées, leurs réflexions ou encore leurs coups de gueule ou leurs petits bonheurs. The CPR Gathering will also launch the 2006 edition of the MUTEK festival of digital culture. The CPR Gathering takes place from 10h00 – 24h00 on Tuesday May 30th at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) at 1195 St. Laurent. It is free to the public and all are welcome. CPR will feature a day of public discussions, presentations and performances by artists and speakers in the technology arts as well as an evening cabaret_numérique. Noted speakers and artists include Ted Byfield, moderator of Nettime.org (NYC), David Garcia, organiser of Next Five Minutes (Netherlands/UK) and Stephan Kovats, Chief Program Director of the V-2 Institute for Unstable Media (Netherlands). Further speakers include international as well as local artists and practitioners from organisations including Koumbit.org and Ile Sans Fil (ISF). CLLAP 2006 : des standards ouverts pour des organisations libres Les 23 et 24 mai prochains, la seconde Conférence sur les logiciels libres et les administrations publiques propose à la société québécoise une vaste réflexion autour des standards ouverts et de l'informatique libre. Les enjeux informatiques majeurs auxquels les administrations publiques font face, aujourd'hui, sont principalement reliés à l'interopérabilité, à la pérennité et à la sécurisation des données. Dans ce contexte, les standards ouverts et les logiciels libres ont des solutions extrêmement pertinentes à proposer. Celles-ci seront au centre de la seconde édition de la Conférence sur les Logiciels Libres et les Administrations Publiques (CLLAP 2006) qui aura lieu à l'Université Laval de Québec, les 23 et 24 mai prochains. La CLLAP 2006 s'est dotée d'un thème à la fois rassembleur et riche de sens : « Des standards ouverts pour des organisations libres ». Parmi ses commanditaires figurent des organisations aussi différentes que le Ministère des Services Gouvernementaux du Québec (MSG), le CRIM (Centre de Recherche Informatique de Montréal), l'association FACIL, pour l'Appropriation Collective de l'Informatique Libre (FACIL), les firmes Covansys, Cyberlogic, DMR Conseil, Novell, Oracle, Révolution Linux, Sys-Tech, ainsi que le Techno Centre Logiciels Libres (TC2L). Au cours de ces deux journées de réflexions partagées, les conférenciers actualiseront le portrait des initiatives et de l'utilisation des logiciels libres, au sein des organisations publiques du Québec. Ces projets pilotes seront présentés par MM. Patrice Di Marcantonio (MSG), Kais Khenine et Daniel Pascot (U. Laval). Nous découvrirons également d'autres modèles internationaux tels que: le projet Copernic, qui transforme le système d'information fiscal français, présenté par son principal architecte, M. Jean-Marie Lapeyre (Ministère des Finances, France); l'Association des Développeurs et des Utilisateurs de Logiciels Libres pour l'Administration et les Collectivités Territoriales (ADULLACT, France), présentée par son directeur technique, M. Pascal Kunczinsky; une étude sur l'effet de massification que les gouvernements peuvent jouer dans le développement de l'informatique libre, présentée par M.Luis Molinié, chargé de cours à l'UQAM et consultant; le projet Sakai de portail Web universitaire, présenté par M. Charles Severance (Université du Michigan); les initiatives de la Mairie de Brest (France) en terme d'accès publics et développement de contenus citoyens, développés par M. Michel Briand. Par ailleurs, un large éventail de présentations ainsi qu'une table ronde mettront en lumière les initiatives québécoises en la matière : Gilles Breau, notamment, de la Commission scolaire des Grandes-Seigneuries, présentera la migration de son institution vers une infrastructure de logiciels libres supportant quelque 30 000 utilisateurs. Michael Lessard (TC2L) présentera les résultats d'une récente étude sur l'utilisation des logiciels libres sur les sites Web et les serveurs de l'Internet public québécois et canadien, proposant en outre le cahier des charges d'une migration réussie vers des logiciels libres. Les participants auront également la possibilité de découvrir les enjeux transversaux portant sur les aspects juridiques, technologiques ou administratifs des solutions basées sur des logiciels libres : M. Jacques Durand (Fujitsu) traitera du développement des standards ouverts des systèmes d'affaires (OASIS); Denis Boudreau (W3Québec) présentera les avantages du respect des normes d'accessibilité émises par le W3C; Jean-Baptiste Soufron (Wikimedia Foundation) montrera comment les outils juridiques du Free Software, de l'Open-Source et de l'Open Content se répandent, aujourd'hui, dans toute l'industrie des télécommunications et l'impact de cette transformation. Cyril Béraud (Savoir-Faire Linux) explorera l'intérêt du travail collaboratif et l'effet de synergie qu'il apporte aux nouvelles économies. Simon Valiquette (GULUS) mettra en lumière le travail obscur, mais ô combien essentiel, des administrateurs des serveurs miroirs qui constituent le principal médium de diffusion des logiciels libres.
