SuperMusique présente
Ensemble SuperMusique: Palimpseste d'orchestre
1 et 2 avril 2005, 20h30
Usine C - 345, rue Lalonde
Ensemble SuperMusique: Pierre Cartier, basse électrique, contrebasse,
voix; Michel F Côté, percussions électroniques;
Jean Derome, flûtes, saxophones, appeaux, voix; Bernard Falaise,

Commons Service Group
document ressource - Journée Internationale des Femmes
As a micro curatorial action, the Commons Service Group published a
web resource on the occasion of International Women's Day last week.
This resource offers annotated links to several Canadian feminist art
projects, organizations, and information on artists' practices. It also
reflects the Commons Service Group's engagement with cultural production
and global trade developments by providing links on feminism, culture
and globalization. Our larger project is to
disseminate information on the significance of the General Agreement
on Trade in Services (GATS) for contemporary art production. The Commons
Service Group is based at the Ecole du Magasin International Curating
Program in Grenoble, France. This small web resource reflects our respective
backgrounds by offering connections between France and Canada.

3 teams of volunteer wrappers are recommended.
Training and practice should take place at least a day or two before the
first performance.
Specifications:
… Dress: simple, white shirt, tan or grey pants, no jewellery, quiet
footwear.
… Attitude: nurturing, attention directed to the task at hand, caring
(making the participate feel at ease and comfortable).
… Movements: gentle and smooth.
… Conversation: quietly, kept to a minimum and on the task at hand.
… Teamwork: constant eye contact, performing each step of the wrapping
in synchronicity.Wrapping Instructions for Wrappers: Unfolding - Wrapping
- Unwrapping - Folding
Always work in unison and from opposite sides of the glass table.
Make sure that the participant is comfortable when wrapping.
Ask the participant to remove his or her shoes and outerwear. Note: gets
warm in the cloth.Unfolding:
… Remove ties from between the folds of the copper taffeta, and
unroll.
… Drape and position 2 ties across the table, for the shoulders
and lower chest, and 1 tie for the ankles.
… Rhythmically and simultaneously, unfold cloth from both ends,
one triangular at a time.
… Methodically unfold the lengthwise folds one at a time. If necessary,
straighten the cloth so it drapes evenly over the table onto the floor.
Wrapping (see diagrams):
1. Invite the participant to lie down on his or her back in the centre
of the table (the head placed at the end where the 2 ties are located).
The arms rest along the body and the legs together.
2. Starting at the feet, grad the corners of the cloth and gently drape
the body, folding it down if necessary (do not cover the head). Secure
by lightly tucking the top layer under the body, keeping the bottom layer
free.
3. Repeat step 2 at the head.
4. At the head, fold the sides of the cloth by pulling in the corners
towards the neck forming a triangle. Hold in place.
5. Tightly pull the corners created by the triangles across the body,
overlapping one side over the other.
6. If needed, gently lift the head and shoulders to reposition ties. Work
together to secure the cloth in place at the shoulder and chest area:
one holds the cloth in place, while the other knots the ties and makes
bows. Neatly twist the ends and loops around the ties.
7. At the feet, fold the sides of the cloth by pulling in the corners
towards the leg forming a triangle. Hold in place.
8. Tightly pull the corners created by the triangles across the body,
overlapping one side (the opposite of the one chosen when securing the
upper body, twisting the edges) over the other.
9. If needed, gently lift the legs to reposition the tie. Work together
to secure the cloth in place at the lower legs: one holds the cloth in
place, while the other knots the ties and makes bows. Neatly twist the
ends and loops around the ties.
Let the participant know that you are leaving the room but will be checking
up on him or her in 10 minutes (halfway through the wrapped session).
Keep an eye on the participant, but do not remain in the room.
Unwrapping (see diagrams):
10. Starting at the head, untie, smooth out and drape the ties over the
table. Pull the cloth out from the folds until you find the corners. Slowly
unveil the top part of the body, draping the cloth over the floor.
11. At the feet, untie, smooth out and drape the ribbon over the table.
Grab the corners of the bottom half of the cloth and slowly pull it away,
draping the cloth over the floor.
12. Invite the participant to get up slowly when he or she is ready.
Folding (see diagrams):
13. At extreme ends of the table, squat. With one hand, hold the cloth
taut; with the other, grad the corner of the edge and fold it in a third
of the width.
14. Repeat step 13 with the opposite edge. Pull the cloth taut.
15. Tightly fold-in one corner towards the outer edge (the same side from
both ends), keeping the other corner in place, forming a triangle.
16. Simultaneously continue the process until you meet in the middle.
17. Adjust the triangles to create a square. Roll the ties tightly and
puck inside the folds of the cloth. Centre the square in the middle of
the table.
Remind the participant to write his or her comments in the notebook (date,
time, place, name, and experience).
