: Edgy Women are innovative, highly physical, often hilarious, transgressive and politicized. With over 20 performing artists, this year’s edition features an eclectic array of works including: the North American premiere of Les Reines Prochaines’s concert Halluzination,; the world premiere of Dayna McLeod’s new video, Pleasure Zone, which explores the world of pornography as a spectator sport; and following her success in Florence and New York, Nathalie Claude will perform her Trilogy on Sadness. 2005 Edgy Festival Calendar Thursday, March 17, 8:30pm: Friday, March 18, 8:30pm: Edgy party - Friday at 10pm at Café Esperenza (St-Laurent &
St-Viateur) Saturday, March 19, 8:30pm: Sunday, March 20, 8:30pm: This cross-disciplinary workshop-experience will explore the development
of solo performance emphasizing the use of physical, writing and psychological
games in an atmosphere of mutual criticism and play. Armed with a plethora
of tools to unleash the creation of live performance, participants will
explore improvisation, movement, intentionality and aesthetic concerns
such as props, costumes, lighting and staging. The development of content
will be examined with particular focus on acknowledging and subverting
the various clichés inherent not only in performance art as a
whole but in the role of women in this discipline. Call

performances and concert works for a conference at Concordia University
July 25-29, 2005, focusing on gender and sound technologies. Artists,
scholars and producers in such areas as: museum sound, theatre sound, Conference participants will have the opportunity
to attend academic panels as well as technical, aesthetic and professional
sessions on working with sound technologies. During the conference,
we will be doing initial production on a sound documentary about gendered

Open Space has a long tradition of promoting experimentalism in music and has always looked to new forms, new media and new methods of audio dissemination. OSEZ LE COURT ! Courts métrages engagés recherchés Parole citoyenne <http://citoyen.onf.ca>, initiative Internet de l’Office national du film du Canada, lance un appel de courts métrages documentaires dans le cadre de la Semaine d’actions contre le racisme (SACR). Les œuvres doivent s’inspirer du thème annuel de la SACR : les boucs émissaires. Les boucs émissaires, ce sont ces gens, regroupements ou phénomènes, que l’on rend responsables de tout. Que l’on montre du doigt. De nos jours, on les cherche, on les trouve facilement, et la porte devient grande ouverte aux dérapages incontrôlés fondés sur la haine des autres. Dans un contexte de mondialisation engendrant les inégalités et l'exclusion sociale, Parole citoyenne contribue à retisser les liens sociaux, en participant à des œuvres dont la démarche prend ses racines dans les collectivités. Parcourez le site de Parole citoyenne : un espace public et technologique engageant, où les mots et les images invitent à une réelle participation citoyenne. Des voix diverses, une création engagée et une diffusion sans frontières! Les courts métrages sélectionnés seront présentés lors d’une projection publique au cinéma de l’ONF, le 24 mars 2005, à 18 h. Un prix du public d’une valeur de 1000 $ sera remis à une des œuvres. De plus, les films retenus seront diffusés sur le site Internet de Parole citoyenne. Les films, à soumettre d’ici le 18 mars 2005, doivent respecter une durée de 3 à 15 minutes. Ils devront être tournés en français ou être sous-titrés en français.
