Studio XX is looking for women media artists
interested in developing a programming project within the scope
of a professional development.
The workshop, Learning the basics of PHP programming, aims to
give the community of women media artists in Montreal the opportunity
to develop basic knowledge about programming by developing their
math and logic skills. During an intense process of research and
creation at the Studio, PHP – Hypertext Preprocessor –
was chosen as the programming language of choice for the workshop.
It is popular, remarkably functional, flexible, well thought out
and stable. This workshop will be given on a GNU/Linux system.
Workshop duration: 12 weeks (4 hours\week) March 7 to
May 30
A cachet of $500 will be given to each participant upon the completion
of their project.
Projects realized during the course of this workshop will be presented
at a Femmes Br@nchées in 2004.
Media artists interested in participating in this workshop should
submit the following:
- name, mailing address, telephone number, email address
- CV
- detailed description of their project
- example of previous work
Deadline for applications: February 20 2004
