heart n. 1. a muscular organ that pumps blood throughout the body. 2. the centre of a person's feelings, affections, or innermost thoughts. 3. source of emotions; the ability to feel kindness, sympathy. 4. a beloved person, dear heart . 5. courage, take heart ; enthusiasm, her heart was in it . 6. middle; centre. 7. the vital part, the heart of the matter. 8. figure shaped like this . 9. a playing card with this shape. by heart by memory.

present 1 adj. 1. at hand. 2. existing or occurring now, at this time. --n. the present time.
