Alice Ming Wai Jim

Alice Ming Wai Jim

Alice Ming Wai Jim is an assistant professor of art history at Concordia University in Montreal. She has an MA in Art History from Concordia University (1996) and a PhD, Dean’s Honour List, from McGill University (2004), where she was a SSHRC and FCAR doctoral fellow. From 2001 to 2002, Jim was Research Fellow at the Centre of Asian Studies and the Centre for the Study of Globalization and Cultures at the University of Hong Kong.

Krista Lynes

Krista Geneviève Lynes is an Assistant Professor in Communication Studies at Concordia University. She holds a PhD in History of Consciousness from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and held a previous position at the San Francisco Art Institute. Her research examines the intersections of video art and documentary in making visible feminist political subjects, as well as multiple visions of social life under conditions of duress, political struggle, human rights abuse or super-exploitation. Her work has appeared in the journals Third Text and Signs.

The Studio XX Team congratulates artists Myriam Bizer, Ginger Coons, Stéphanie Lagueux, Sandra Lavoie, Jonathan L'Écuyer and Allison Moore on the completion of their interactive projects, realized over the course of the 08-09 season as part of the Digital Ludology commissioned artworks workshop. We look forward to presenting these works to our members and the general public in 2009-2010!

 

 

Matricules Launch

Three years in the making, Studio XX presents Matricules: one of the world's largest online archives of women's digital art. Created with invaluable support from Heritage Canada's Canadian Culture Online Program and hosted by Studio XX, Mobile Media Lab and the Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University, Matricules will launch on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Hexagram Concordia, 1515 Ste-Catherine West (corner Guy) on the 11th floor.
