« Audio/Dislocation » is an exploration which involves an auditor’s body and consciousness. At each step, the participant triggers soundtracks within the territory. Audio/Dislocation has been developed under the direction of Edith Normandeau’in creative residency at Studio XX, and in collaboration with the Audiotopie collective.

Studio XX to participate at the 2009 Citizen Media Rendezvous

Studio XX and the Matricule Archive will be featured as a case study for discussion at the first-ever Citizen Media Rendezvous to be held on August 26, 2009 at the Society for Arts and Technology at 7:00 PM.

Studio XX and Matricules at Histories and Archives Colloquium

Studio XX have presented two ArtTalks focusing on the topic of « Open Source and The Matricules Online Archive : A Major Creation by a Feminist Artist-run Centre » in the context of The Histories and Archives, Arts and Hypermediatic Literature International Colloquium. The .dpi editorial team was also present Studio XX’s .dpi electronic journal.

Matricules Launch

Three years in the making, Studio XX presents Matricules: one of the world's largest online archives of women's digital art. Created with invaluable support from Heritage Canada's Canadian Culture Online Program and hosted by Studio XX, Mobile Media Lab and the Department of Communication Studies at Concordia University, Matricules will launch on Tuesday, May 13th, 2008 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at Hexagram Concordia, 1515 Ste-Catherine West (corner Guy) on the 11th floor.

As Canada's foremost feminist bilingual media arts centre for technological exploration, production and critique, Studio XX is hitting the road with its TransCanada Pipeline Project to share twelve years of cutting-edge creation while taking the pulse of the media arts landscape. After a Quebec City launch, the Pipeline Project now focuses on the Maritimes, travelling to cities across Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
