La Fête de l’art est un événement annuel entamé par Robert Filliou, artiste français du mouvement Fluxus. D’après Filliou, l’art est né le 17 janvier, jour où quelqu’un s’empara d’une éponge et la plongea dans un seau d’eau. Depuis 1963, le Fête de l’art est célébrée par les communautés artistiques à travers le monde./
Art's Birthday is an annual event first proposed by French Fluxus artist Robert Filliou. According to Filliou, Art was born when someone dropped a dry sponge into a bucket of water on the 17th of January. Since 1963, Art's Birthday has been celebrated by artistic communities worldwide.
