Jonathan L’Écuyer

Project: Conversations sur l’oreiller / Pillow TalkMedia artists Jonathan L’Écuyer and Stéphanie Lagueux have worked together for several years on both their respective and common projects and as a couple and a family.

Their approaches intersect in media and materials as well as in ideas, and seek above all to commit and intrigue the viewer with their machinations.

Lagueux and L’Écuyer both earned a Bachelor of Arts and Design from the Université de Québec in Ottawa in 1998 after which they started their practice and involvement in artist-run centers, Axis NEO-7 and DAIMON. Lagueux has also shown her work elsewhere in Québec (Studio XX, Videographe, Video Femmes, Rimouski Regional Museum, Art that goes boom, 3e imperial), including the video installation www.cliquezgenereusement. com. Jonathan works in multimedia and as a carpenter, and Stéphanie as webmistress at Studio XX and other art centers.
