.DPI: The Studio XX Electronic Review
http://dpi.studioxx.org/
Born of a longtime desire to create a critical,
and socially and creatively engaged transdisciplinary space,
.DPI addresses cyberfeminism and broader issues involving
women and their diverse relations to new media and contemporary
technological landscapes. .DPI is an alternative platform
for communication and exchange in a zone of shared concerns
between feminism and Net specific realities. We seek to initiate
a technocritical exchange on the many preoccupations that
women have concerning the technological ubiquity that we live
with.
Using the Web as a medium of expression, the Studio is attempting
with this initiative to:
_ Offer critical and innovative perspectives on social, political
and cultural phenomena that have an impact on women's lives
and experiences;
_Offer proactive resources and information regarding issues
of access to, and understanding and mastering of technology;
_Participate in existing feminist networks and in the development
of emerging cyberfeminist communities.
The editorial board is soliciting contributions
from theoreticians, curators, activists, and practitioners,
from here and abroad. It is open to texts inspired by the current working theme of the Studio,
or proposing a critical and feminist reflection on issues
connected to women and technology.
Each bilingual issue features three background
texts, which can be academic or more experimental. One of
the essay will find a response in the following issues to
build up a chain of in-depth reflection throughout time. All
contributions are remunerated.
