Naomi Potter's work comes from a place that is somewhere between fiction and reality. To describe it she might say it is the point, the thin line between falling and imagining falling. It seems not so much the difference between falling and standing, but the hesitation between each. She is obsessed with the inadequacy and disorientation language has when emotion breaks in and messes things up.
Since finishing her MFA in Montreal at Concordia University, Naomi has been developing curatorial and artist projects both independently, and with her collective BLUNT. BLUNT's mandate is to develop projects and exchanges with artists in Canada, Eastern and Central Europe, who deal mainly with installation or media based work. Naomi is currently living in Berlin.
